Setting Up for Live Event Day

Melee Mobile is built for running an event, not building one. Complete setup on Melee.gg before doors open, then switch to the app for live management.

Before You Arrive

Do the following on Melee.gg ahead of time:

  • Create the tournament
  • Configure event settings (format, rounds, phases, etc.)
  • Register your players
  • Publish the tournament (unpublished or test/training tournaments won’t show in the mobile app)

Day-of Checklist

  1. Confirm your staff have Melee accounts with the correct organization access and staff role (organizer, scorekeeper, or judge).
  2. Have each staff member sign into Melee Mobile and confirm they can see the tournament (see Getting Started with Melee Mobile if not).
  3. Pin the event on each device for faster access (see Pinning & Notifications).
  4. Turn on notifications for the event on devices that need live updates.
  5. Pair Round 1 from either Melee.gg or Melee Mobile.
  6. Hand off live management to the app: monitor matches, submit results, pair subsequent rounds, and handle penalties/time extensions as needed.

Notes

  • Staff permissions determine what each person can do in the app – judges typically have a more limited toolset than scorekeepers or admins. Confirm roles ahead of time to avoid day-of confusion.
  • Some advanced tools (Player Meeting, Draft Pods, Deck Checks) are not yet available in the app – plan to handle these processes outside the app for now.
