Frequently Asked Questions
Player Frequently Asked Questions
I entered a tournament with an entry fee, but am no longer able to play. How can I get refunded?
Refunds will happen automatically as long as you unenroll yourself before the unenrollment date set by the organizer. (This is usually the start of the event.)
I need help with a tournament, who should I contact?
You should first contact the Tournament Organizer. There are 3 ways to do this:
- Create a support ticket in the specific event: Click the yellow “Contact Tournament Staff” button found in the top right side of the tournament’s view page.
- Join their Discord server: Click “Get Help” in the bottom right of the screen.
- Email them: Click on the name of the Organizer on the main tournament page, then “View Contact Info” on their organization page.
If that does not work or your issue is specific to the Melee platform, you can contact us here.
How do I verify my Discord and/or Twitch account?
You can do this by editing your profile. On the navigation tab, click your avatar and then “Your Profile” in the drop down. Then click on your “Profile Settings” to find “Your Melee Account”. Here you can select the “Third-party Apps” tab on the left-hand side. From there, simply select the account you want to link to your Melee account!
Organizer Frequently Asked Questions
Do you plan on supporting other games as well?
Yes, we’re always looking to add more games to our platform. If you are interested in having your game added or you want us to work with a specific game publisher, you can email us at contact@melee.gg.
Why does my Organization have a player cap of 128?
Organizations have a base player cap of 128. This helps ensure a smooth and enjoyable tournament for everyone involved – as larger events require more processing power. To inquire about increasing your organization’s player cap for tabletop tournaments, please email contact@melee.gg.
I have a paid entry tournament and there seems to be an issue with a payment, how do I resolve payment issues?
Payment issues happen rarely, but if someone believes they were double charged or charged and not added to the tournament, please email us at contact@melee.gg or create a ticket through our discord.
When will I get paid out for tournaments that have an entry fee?
For Stripe: Entry fee reimbursements will process automatically through your Stripe Express account.
For PayPal: Entry fee reimbursements are processed every Thursday for tournaments with status: “Ended” set at least four days prior. Reimbursements are sent to the PayPal account linked to the organization and consist of total entry fees collected, minus refund fees.
How do I enable entry fees on my Organizer account?
You can enable entry fees for your tournaments by creating a Stripe Express through your organization’s dashboard > edit organization page. This will unlock the option to run tournaments with entry fees. By enabling entry fees, you agree to the Melee Terms of Service and we suggest you read up on our Entry Fee and Payment Policies before creating an event that accepts entry fees on the platform.

How can I become an organizer and run my own tournaments using Melee?
Once you’ve created a player account on Melee, navigate to “Organizers” on the navigation bar. In the drop down you’ll find “Create an Organization”. Follow the steps on setting up your Organization, wait for approval (this should take <12 hours), and start running tournaments!
Melee Mobile Frequently Asked Questions
I don’t see any tournaments or organization I am part of.
The app displays only tournaments that are published, in progress or ended less than two weeks ago. Test events are not displayed.
In case there are no events matching those criteria, no information will be displayed within the app. Your organization name also will not be displayed at that time.
If you have events matching the described criteria (not a test, published, in progress or ended less than 2 weeks ago) and don’t see your organization name in the upper left corner after logging in the app, consider logging out, cleaning app data and logging back in. If you still can’t see your organization name despite being the owner/part of staff, please contact support at contact@melee.gg.
