Mark for Drop / Mark for No Show Workflow

This feature lets Judge-role staff flag a player’s status from the match level without directly removing them from the tournament – keeping that decision in the hands of Scorekeepers or Admins.

How It Works

  1. From the Match Details popup, a Judge selects Mark for Drop or Mark as No Show on a player.
  2. The app records the player as needing Scorekeeper or Admin attention – it does not drop them immediately.
  3. A visible status indicator appears in the Matches Action dropdown, which is where Admins/Scorekeepers review and approve drops.

This gives judges a fast way to flag a status change from the table, while preventing accidental or unauthorized drops.

Reviewing and Approving Drops (Scorekeeper/Admin)

Open the Marked for Drop Players window from the Matches Action dropdown. From there:

  • Uncheck a row – keeps that player from being dropped when you tap the drop button. The record stays in this list for later review; it isn’t removed.
  • Tap the trash icon on a row – removes that record from the table completely and reverts the player’s “Marked for Drop” status (use this if the flag was made in error).
  • Tap “Drop X Players” (bottom right) – drops every player currently checked in the list.

Interaction With Round Pairing

If you try to pair a new round while players are still sitting in “Marked for Drop” status, Melee will prompt you to choose one of:

  • Drop those players and proceed with matching, or
  • Go review the Marked for Drop Players list first, or
  • Cancel and back out of the pairing action

Best Practice

  • Judges: use this to flag, not to remove – trust the review step.
  • Scorekeepers/Admins: review the Marked for Drop list before pairing the next round to avoid the extra prompt/interruption mid-pairing.
