Introduction to Organizing Tournaments on Melee

Organizer Set-Up Guide #

The Melee Platform specializes in tournament operations as well as various TCG Organized Play programs. This guide is designed to save you time down the line as it will lead you through Organization Setup, Tournament Creation and Operations, and our In-Store Programs.

Understanding Your User Account and Your Organization #

To best understand the Melee Platform, we first need to cover the User and Organization relationship. When you create an Organization on Melee, that Organization does not become a part of your account. Instead, it is its own entity that you automatically become a staff member of. This means you could create more than one Organization and/or add your employees with Melee accounts to your Organization(s) as Staff members so they can operate aspects of your business.

To avoid issues such as your employees accidentally creating new Organizations, which does happen, it is highly suggested you have your employees create Melee accounts and get them staffed to your Organization right away.

Creating a User Account and Organization #

Your Organization Dashboard #

An Organization Dashboard will be your central point for any business operations you do on Melee. Here you will find tabs on the left-hand side of the screen that allow you to create new tournaments, see old tournaments, manage any financials if you use our Entry Fee systems, and your venues and locations. We suggest doing the following as soon as possible. 

Edit Your Organization #

Found under the “Edit Organization” tab is the ability to set up your Organization. 

  • Set your Organization’s profile picture.
  • Set your customer service email address if it’s different from the email you created the Organization with.
  • Set a unique URL for your Organization’s unique tournament display page. 
  • Submit any information required for In-Store Programs you are a part of.
    • Wizards Play Network Store Name
    • AsmoConnect Id
  • Connect a PayPal account to enable our Entry Fee system.

Add your Address #

Found on the Venues and Locations tab is the ability to create a location. This can be used during tournament creation to help players find your tournaments more easily.
