Guest accounts can be used in rare instances where an organizer needs to enter a player into their event but the player doesn’t have a Melee account and cannot or will not create one. Guest accounts are also sometimes used temporarily for minor children when creating a linked parent controlled account has proven difficult.
Note: Guest accounts cannot be linked to or converted into normal user accounts. They should only be used as a last resort or temporary solution.
On the “Players” tab of your tournament under the “Player Actions” buttons there is a menu selection for enrolling guest accounts. Select that menu option and a pop up dialog box will step you through the process. When you select the “Generate new guest account” the guest account will be created and immediately enrolled into your tournament. Do not select “Generate new guest account” unless you want to add that account to your tournament. If you add a guest account accidentally, you can go to the players list and change the status of the guest account to “unenrolled” to remove it from the tournament.
You are given 2 options for giving this information to the players: Print or Email (you can also choose to do both).
