Melee allows parents to create and manage accounts for users who are under the age of 13. When you are creating an account for your child who is under the age of 13, Melee will ask for your email address during the account registration process.
Note: These accounts must belong to the parent as no accounts can belong to or contain personal identifiable information for users less than 13 years of age.
Once you have created the account, you will receive emails from Melee that help you through the process of confirming parental consent, which will unlock your child’s account.
If you are uninterested in creating multiple email addresses to support both your “parent” and “child” accounts, many email service providers offer a feature called “Subaddressing”. This allows you to create multiple accounts utilizing the same email address by adding a plus (“+”) sign and any combination of words or numbers after an email address. For example, Contact@Melee and Contact+Child@Melee can be used to support two accounts on Melee, but have all emails associated with those accounts go to Contact@Melee.
