cEDH $5k Tournament with INCLUDED Commandfest badge

We want to welcome everyone to CommandFest Worcester. This event is Commander centered but not all Commander. We have added some competitive events that don’t require a Commandfest badge to play in. Everyone may visit the vendors and artists without a badge. Everything else requires a Commandfest badge to do. The CEDH event is capped at 180 players and has a basic Commandfest badge included.

Each basic Commandfest badge comes with: 3 Four Player Pod constructed events. We are waiting for official approval for 2 of our new events. The first is tentatively named KING of The Hill. This event is super competitive, we are thinking tier 4 to 5. You may use a play voucher or pay the $10.00 entry. The winner of this pod receives 300 prize wall tickets and a FREE Entry into another Four Player Pod constructed event. The second event is tentatively named 7’s are wild. This event is casual style event with a twist. Players have 6 turns to get ready for the wildness that happens on turn 7 and beyond as players are not allowed to win before turn 7! Every player will receive 80 prize wall tickets just for playing. The winner will receive an additional 40 prize wall tickets and an additional FREE Entry into another Four Player Pod. A booster pack of Wilds of Eldraine will cost 40 prize wall tickets.

The event schedule is full of other events in addition to the On demand events. Players with the Commandfest badge have FREE access to the Command Zone, the meet and greet sessions with our content creators. The content creators will be playing games in the Command Zone as well. We want this event to be fun filled with unique play experiences. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Tom Shea at: TomSheatj@gmail.com or 508-404-8245.

A CommandFest badge is not needed to play in competitive non commander events, or to visit vendors and artists. For all Commander play, events and activities a badge is needed.

About Us:

TJ Café & Games is the evolution of TJ Collectibles. TJ Collectibles opened March 18, 1992 at 227 Main Street, Milford, MA. We opened in 600 feet of space as a Baseball Card/Comic Book shop. In 1996, we relocated to 160 Main Street, Milford. In 1997 we ran our first Magic tournament in our basement; we had 27 players.

TJ Collectibles went on to have 26 players qualify for the Pro Tour. We have been lucky to have had so many great players play in our events over the years. TJ Collectibles organized Magic Grands Prix from 2001, cohosting with Rob Dougherty (Your Move Games), to hosting our own from 2011 to 2016. In 2020, TJ Collectibles relocated during the pandemic and became TJ Café & Games. We appreciate that our customers chose us as their place to game. We are looking forward to hosting CommandFest Worcester. If you need any further assistance, please email Tom Shea at TomSheaTJ@gmail.com.

Commander Pauper:

Pauper Commander, like Commander, is a multiplayer format typically played in pods of 3-4 players (though 1v1 is also fairly popular). It has been around since the early 2000s with varying rulesets. The most universally accepted rules are that each player starts with 30 life and plays a deck of 99 unique common cards (excluding basic lands) headed by an uncommon creature (legendary or non-legendary) that is the deck’s commander.[2] Another difference is that a player dies after taking 16 damage from a single commander. Otherwise, the rules follow those of Commander.
Pauper Commander follows the combined paper/online rarities adopted by Pauper[3] but also allows the use of promo cards. This means cards that have only appeared at the common or uncommon rarity in online sets such as Chainer’s Edict and Bastion Protector are legal to play. You can use the Scryfall search engine to find a card’s rarity from any set.
Banned list Like Commander, groups may choose to include or exclude certain cards but most games follow the standardized rules from the PDH Home Base. Under these rules, the following cards are banned[4].
